Tour Bedrooms

The James Manning House offers four bedrooms. Three are located on the second floor and the fourth on the third floor.  The second-floor bedrooms each have a queen bed, two chairs, writing desk, reading lamps, electric fireplace, cable television, ceiling fan, and private bathroom. The entire house has central air-conditioning and wireless internet throughout all floors. The beauty of the old home can be felt in the bedrooms with the original wide plank floors, high ceilings, chair rails, and fireplaces. For your modern-day comfort areas rugs are used, closets or armoires are available, along with robes, soft towels, quilts and throws, and luxury bedding.

Wayne Room

The Wayne Room is our largest guest room with large, cheery and bright windows overlooking the southeast gardens and Bethany landscape. An early riser might even be treated to a spectacular sunrise over the Honesdale valley and Pocono Mountain horizon. Enjoy a guest controlled electric fireplace, flame for ambience or extra heat on a chilly winter night. Throughout the room are antiques and touches of surrounding Wayne County, trains, mountains, lake fowl, and history.  This room offers a day bed for an extra guest or the space can just be used to curl up with a good book.  The Wayne Room bath is private, en-suite with a walk-in shower. Robes and hair dryer are provided for convenience.

Lancaster Room

Drift off to sleep with thoughts of a simpler life when your stay includes our Lancaster Room, in shades of blue with red accents.  This room features a maple pencil post bed, antique writing desk, and stained-glass window accent. The electric fireplace provides ambiance with a flickering flame and can add extra heat to the room on a chilly night. Your private bath adjoining the room contains a full bathtub with shower for relaxation. Robes and a hairdryer are available in all of our rooms.

Lancaster Room

Drift off to sleep with thoughts of a simpler life when your stay includes our Lancaster Room, in shades of blue with red accents.  The room is decorated with authentic Amish quilts and pictures giving one the feeling of the Lancaster County countryside. This room features a maple pencil post bed, antique writing desk, and stained-glass window accent. The electric fireplace provides ambiance with a flickering flame and can add extra heat to the room on a chilly night. Your private bath adjoining the room contains a full bathtub with shower for relaxation and bubble bath is included. Robes and privacy screen are provided. A hairdryer is available in all of our rooms.

Berks Room

Decorated in soothing green our Berks Room is quiet and relaxing. The centerpiece for this room is the cannonball wraparound oak headboard on the queen-sized bed. The owners’ Berks County Pennsylvania Dutch heritage is featured throughout this room, This room is on the quiet side of the house and has windows looking into the property and gardens. On occasion you might even catch a glimpse of deer wondering through the yard. The room amenities include an electric fireplace for ambience and extra warmth, two comfortable glider chairs, and an armoire. The private en-suite bath has a walk-in shower, robes and hairdryer are provided.

Third Floor Bonus Room 

The fourth bedroom is located on the third floor of the house and is furnished with two twin beds, a TV, and Alexa. It is directly across from the yoga room. 

Bonus Room For Family & Friends

We have a fabulous room we rent out for families with extra travelers, or very close friends.  It is located on the third floor of the house and is furnished with two twin beds.  We use it for teens, two sisters, close friends, etc.  You have your own room on the third floor but share a bath with a room on the second floor.  (Either the Lancaster or Wayne Room)  You can access this bathroom without going through the bedroom on the second floor.

We never rent the room on its own.  It is meant to be added onto a room rental.
